Lytes Cary: Hedgerow, Riverbank & Woodland

.

A long-delayed sequel to my Lytes Cary post, these are some photos from outside of the formal gardens. Boy and I took the path down to the River Cary, walked alongside it a little, and then found our way back along some field edges and through a lovely little bit of wood.
Since it was quite late in the afternoon by this point we had the place to ourselves and there was some lovely late afternoon sun lighting up the trees and berries.

I meant to post this in late December but there was some kind of Flickr stupidness with the photo sharing code becoming iframes. I've got my good old html img tags back now so it's all playing nicely with blogger and mobile browsers again.

By the time we got back to the house it was definitely late late afternoon and the sun had become low and lovely. It did make it quite hard to walk across this very lumpy field, but it was pretty all the same :)

Unseasonal Shots

Autumnal!

It's not that I'm wishing away the summer or anything (except that I kind of am - I'm really not made for this weather) but going through the old photos I've been uploading to Flickr is making me really nostalgic for autumn. Pretty leaves, big cardigans, boots, & cosiness.

Bath On Film

Back in February I went on a day trip to Bath with the boy and a couple of friendly Photosoc-ers. We wandered about, took photos, ate bagels in Queen Square, took photos, had coffee, took photos...
These are all from a roll of Rollei RPX 400 shot in my Pentax K1000 with 50mm 1:2 lens if you're interested in that sort of thing. More of my photos (but not these yet) can be found on my Flickr photostream. The XL photo size wouldn't fit in my theme but I think these will enlarge if you click on them. They were all developed & scanned by that lovely, useful boy of mine.

All photos by me, if you'd like to use them in a non-profit creative way I'm flattered, but please let me know & link back here.

Roma I

Via Della Dogana Vecchia
I recently went on a trip to Rome with Photosoc. It turns out a sunny January is an amazing time to go, the weather's lovely - not too hot or too cold, and there aren't the usual hoards of tourists. There were still plenty, but distinctly manageable amounts.
We spent our first whole day there taking a planned wander through the old streets, seeing various sights, and generally enjoying the atmosphere. Some of the best photo opportunities (and the best priced espressos) were on back streets.

The light was just lovely! Click through to my Flickr for a deluge of photos.

Blueness.
We had an excellent group, there were twenty-one of us but we split into smaller groups most of the time (try getting a table for 21 in a restaurant) and everyone got on well and enjoyed themselves. This is just a selection of photos from one day, there'll be more posts (and film photos eventually). The last one here is the view from the Boboli Gardens across to St Peters in the early evening, it was just lovely.

Winter Sunshine

SO Christmas has happened, there's been lots of snow & coldness... Have some sunshine!

Grapes!
I seem to have a habit of photographing plants when in Bristol. You'd think I was from the countryside or something...

Photosoc Tea Social :)

Photosoc socials - best made of yummy tea, old cameras and warm laziness. The extreme contrastyness in this photo is down to a) the intense sunlight coming in through the glass front of the café and b) my cack-handed film skills. I shot a roll of 400 speed black and white film as though it was 1600 (on purpose) with the intention of "push" processing it (developing it for longer) to make it look more interesting and possibly contrasty. However I got it mixed up with another roll of the same film and accidentally developed it for the normal length of time only... So it came out *very* contrasty! I rather like the effect on some shots though, just a shame I wasn't expecting it.

All these photos were taken on my Pentax ME Super, click through to my Flickr for details/more :)
